Homemade Brown Sauce

Homemade Brown Sauce recipe with dates, apples and red-wine vinegar.

Ingredients

  • 200g pitted dates
  • 700g Bramley apples
  • pinch of ground allspice
  • ping of ground ginger
  • few gratings of nutmeg
  • 140g dark brown sugar
  • 100ml Cabernet Sauvignon vinegar
  • 100ml red wine vinegar

Method

Cook till soft, blend, taste, cool, jar, done.

Notes

I’ve also added tamarind paste.
